Joe Harmon, head of the project has named the car “Splinter”
This two-seater “Splinter” is 15ft. long, it has a laminated wood veneer chassis and wooden wheel rims inside while Osage orange wood has been used to make its springs. It is made up of maple, plywood and MDF, has a 4.6 liter V8 petrol engine and a six-speed gearbox.

This car weighs 1,134 kilograms, 240 kilograms less than the lightweight Porsche 911 GT3. The car has a top speed of 240mph. The Splinter has a roll cage to protect the driver

The car is due to hit the road later this year. The design company, Joe Harmon Design, is yet to decide on the price of this two-seater car.

Maks and Nathaniel: This car is safe, the makers of the car want the car to participate in formula one.

Thetinguy : This may not be the first wooden car, but this is definitely the first wooden car which is faster than a Porsche or a Lamborghini.
