Fitness While Desk Chained

A new breed of workstation fitness machines are now available in view of your growing waistline (pardon the already-fit ones here). It does seem a workable option to those desk-chained. Let’s look at some of the options.
There the treadmill desk attachment, the stepper, pedaling, the Stairmaster, spring flex and of course the hand-crank cell phone chargers.
As the picture depicts a man working on his laptop while walking. Seems workable and reasonable won’t you think? The hand crank cell phone charger;
Ok as well, nothing wrong in getting some wrist exercise after working that mouse all over your desktop. The spring flex is the muscled guy working out in front of his … oh lets be real! That’s surely not his desk! But motivational I am sure to the size-mosquito desk jack. Then there is the Stairmaster, the website says they have been in business for 25 years! For god’s sake! Let climbing real stairs out, but they have been selling on-spot stairs?? Quote from their website “For members who want real results and a real workout” ….. ! For real results find real stairs!!!!
Now we come to the best part. The stepper. Notice the woman working on her PC while working the stepper with her legs below the desk? Have you heard of slave labor? Those long ocean-going galleries who were filled with slaves manning the oars?? Well, if the woman stops pedaling the keyboard and mouse stop working!! That’s to all you desk-chained labor! While you have been sitting there reading this article instead of working, your boss happened to stop by your desk just read this entire article over your shoulder …..
Luck gets tougher for the desk jockeys with the Exmocare’s wrist-worn BT2 which monitors heart rate, body temperature and other vitals. It’s a Bluetooth device strapped to your wrist (notice picture) that send wireless reports to supervisors. So any irregular pulse movement maybe caused by unauthorized website excursions will have them decent on you quicker than the black suits in the matrix movie..

Am I the only one who thinks it’s a bit sad that people are finding it impossible to get even a few minutes of exercise a day?
Exercise is meant to be enjoyable, not a chore. I think I will stick to my real stairs.

iPod Touch : The best way to exercise is to really go out and do some walking, jogging, gyming, but since many people do not get much time this is the easy way out.

If you do web work you may be more chained to your desk than most anyone else. Sometimes I think accountants have more “real” human contact and move around more during the day than I do!
