Solutions For Acne Problems

I had discussed in my earlier post about Acne Treatment. There I had discussed about the tools which are used to remove acne like black head remover etc. This time I would like to take your views on Proactiv. Has anybody used this solution to cure their acne problems? I have lately heard and read about this product. I am not aware how far solutions like this have helped in curing acne, but I do see people using them. Has anybody tried these products? And how have been your experiences? Please share here with us so that we all can benefit from your reviews.

The Best Dressed Celeb Couples

I know I have said in the past that celeb spotting is not is not one of my hobbies, but Vanity Fair put out their Best Dressed Couple’s List which had some improbable on it so I thought I would just cover that.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie

The fact that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt (aka Brangelina) were topping the list was not a surprise; they are terribly good looking and terribly news worthy. Besides they can afford to be as well dressed as they are, cant they? To give them their due, they are smart even when sloppy.

Next on the list are Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady; not such a surprise: she is a top model he is a top athlete (American Football); people always love such starry alliances

Barack and Michelle Obama

At number 3 are Barack and Michelle Obama as the surprise package! Political leaders don’t often find their way into best dressed lists, but very obviously the Democrat Presidential candidate and his wife are really the flavor of the month or do I mean year. They have captured the imagination of the people as also the eye of the fashion photographer.

Nicolas Sarkozy & Carla Bruni-Sarkozy

The flamboyant and handsome couple of French President Nicolas Sarkozy & Carla Bruni-Sarkozy are at number 4, with the latter being a former model I suppose it is easy to know how to dress for success. Admittedly, that is a very good looking couple.

Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani
Next on the list are Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani, which was quite frankly a surprise to me. If Gwen Stefani’s music videos are anything to go by, she deserves a place on the worst dressed rather than the best dressed list. Don’t know about the shower curtain dress either!

David & Victoria Beckham are a given on a list such as this, who are at number 6. Good looking and news worthy, Posh has a rep to protect after all.
Prince William and Kate Middleton are next on the list. If I may just be a bit waspish, may I just say that the Prince had better be well dressed, with all the resources at his disposal and really not all that much to do.

Jennifer Connelly and Paul Bettany and Justin Portman and Natalia Vodianova follow and number 8 and 9 respectively.

Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore

Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore bring up number 10. Now I have always felt that this is a very interesting couple, she an older (15 years older) divorce and mother or Bruce Willis’ kids who’s been there done that , him a fledgling actor just starting out in life; I wish them a long and happy married life.

So all in all a rather nice representative list. I want to see if I can do a worst dressed list next time (that ought to be far more interesting). Your thoughts?

Declare The Games Open

Olympics RingsMassive. Meticulous. Earnest. Daedal Ian. Elaborate. Dazzling, Dramatic, Theatrical. Some of the words I would use to describe the opening of the Olympic Games. There are a few more phrases however, iron-curtained, heavily-politicized, and air-tight.

The opening was fantastic. Those who missed it, lost out. Catch the recast if you can. The performances were intricate, very well synchronized, fabulous effort and definitely something for the world to learn from their admirable performance.

Olympics Torch However, it was hard to miss how perfunctory things were. There is the political will dictating every movement of every entity in the entire complex. When the torch was being run around the stadium there was another man holding a walkie-talkie running right behind him, in full view of the cameras. During the team parade there were organizers darting in and out making instructions. All the numerous cheering girls and boys lining the way soon clasped their hands together blocking any movement outside their control. All very clamped down. Rumor is Chinese citizens of other regions don’t even have free movement into Beijing and Shanghai! There’s that freedom of movement (if there is anything like that)

Olympics Games Beijing The President of the International Olympic Committee said in his speech “One world, one dream”. Well said. Sport unites. All the participants walking through the ground had on their faces so much hope, aspiration and the single motivation to perform in chosen sport. The entire world comes together in sport and it has been that way now for several millennia.

The 2008 Olympics are underway now. Beijing has what appears an air-tight setup. Could rather difficult for the players I imagine, possibly limited freedom, and lack of enough breathing space for them. Security and organizers everywhere, instructing people on everything from which booth to use at the washroom to the brand of their morning cereal…! Pure speculation of course! I really hope though for the players to see good game and pray that the Olympic spirit makes its presence felt. Good Luck Olympians!Olympics

Personalized Gifts

Kid’s birthday parties always made us think of the balloon decorations, the cake, games and lots of colorful activities and added with lots of fun. And with these parties come gifts. Gifts form the essential part of any kiddy party. Now days I see this new trend which has started, people give personalized gifts, i.e. gifts which have a personal touch which are specifically made for the person whom one is gifting with either his/her name written or his/her photograph on them. I really find this idea cool…..reason being the person who receives the gift feels special that the other person ahs taken extra efforts to get something personally done for him or her and secondly the person receiving the gift cannot pass it on to someone else as it has its name or snap on the gift.

I think me too will start giving gifts like this to my near and dear ones.

Virtual Living

Video ConferencingVirtual Reality, brought by recent game titles have been making themselves more and more relevant than being written off as play for the anti-social. That includes myself, when World of Warcraft, Second Life were making news I barely bothered to read them. To me it was bunch of highly introvert people chaining themselves to their computers and making out online impressions of ‘cool’ they couldn’t bother to be in real life.

Not entirely untrue. Fact is, anyone can be whatever and however they want if they willed it. Instead of making the effort to move about much people confined themselves to them and their computers to create a dashing and hopeful entity online. It worked, gave them some contentment and satisfaction to lead in virtual at least a life they wanted.

Things have gone beyond that now. The online life is coming closer to reality and even replacing life-events in some cases. From people living fantasy lives now multi-national companies conducting conferences online. Some companies have mapped out their entire campus online so people can wander about and explore their decision to work in that company. A conference-room like environment can be created and the employees can log in all over the work into the room and have a real-life-like conference with people’s movement and visuals.

You’ll have to admit it saves the company a good amount of money, flying their employees to and from conferences, accommodation and the rest. As this technology progresses people could be travelling a lot lesser. At this point one also needs to think about the implications of this new medium. I’ll put it quite simple. Where people can they will. People with criminal intention in real life would sure like to expand their tentacles into the online world, more business quite simply. Or even the other way, budding illegal thinkers have a world new arena to make a start. As time goes I will look more in detail at this virtual living and share it with you all.

Caught In The Web

Web 2.0The seeping in of web 2.0 makes one look back at the advent of computing. Of the many changes brought, the best undoubtedly has been bridging distance, i.e. world wide web. An apt term. The internet truly has worked wonders. Access to people and knowledge in a way unprecedented before. Arguably, there has been nothing like it since time past and only anything of the supernatural can eclipse this some future point. There really is no question that it has irrevocably changed how we lead our lives.

People who have been using the internet for years now already know this. No internet no life. It is quite true. Getting on the internet is both the first thing and last thing people do in a productive day. I know I cannot do without it. It’s enormously like falling out of reception on your cell phone. Just won’t do. The PC has become a source of everything: Work, play, leisure, music, banking, research, movie making, watching and a whole lot more. It will I think in some form soon replace television as we know it.

As we just saw, with almost every conceivable activity now being done through this mammoth network which is both local and but yet world-wide at the same time. When a few years ago I was telling some people that even impoverished people will go to cyber-centres with a website address on a slip of paper to get work done; naturally, people laughed. But it is happening today, look around you. The web has truly ‘webbed’ us all.

Many people say that after first wave ‘IT’ revolution in the ‘90’s the second wave IT web revolution is happening now with web 2.0. Under-utilisation of the complete potential is as much fact as existence of the web itself. I ask you, how many of you use the internet to pay your bills. Or embraced the digital home? Complete with talking fridge and all… Quite possibly, many people are unaware of the full potential they can extract from the web.

Web 2.0 aims at doing exactly that. What is web 2.0? It’s pretty much the same thing in working, only a lot more human friendly. Why I say human friendly is because the interactions and intelligence weaved in makes contact a lot less daunting and personalises the ‘web’ experience to individual users. Just so people use it more. Similar to real life, you spend more time with someone friendly than an arrogant person. Web 2.0 hopes to be your best friend, man-Friday, etc … (if it isn’t already).

For those who didn’t know, many call centres are automated systems, no nice girl on the other end. If the computer is unable to help then you get directed to a ‘real’ person. A web 2.0 function. The era of the internet is today, seek out what all it can do for you and make full use of it… Since there really is no escape from it now…

Job Opportunities

Getting into a right kind of job is plain simple luck. Of course your growth in the job depends on the hard work you put in. Today we see a lot of sites offering job opportunities. There are sites which act like a bridge between the employee’s and the employer’s. These sites sometimes have certain location limitations. One such site is also available for Boston jobs i.e. it mainly has job openings for people who would like to work in Boston and its surrounding areas. They offer jobs of all kinds.
