Dreams. Happens to all of us. Some of us enjoy them, some don’t mind them and then there are the few who are troubled by dreams. What are dreams saying to us? Are they saying anything at all? Is it a figment of imagination …? It has been a topic of debate and research for centuries now.
There are many perspectives one can take; that dreams are an exaggeration of emotion, pure imagination, a new perspective, future forecasts among many more. Now what would you think of the aforementioned? Would you agree that any one or two of the mentioned define what dreams are? Truth really is they are all true. As true as the fact one human being is unique to another. They work very differently for one person than the next hence there has been no single theory on what dreams interpretation. Lets look at why.
Dreams are a manifestation of our thoughts. That said, what thoughts we mull upon generally get looked at in greater colour and detail in our dreams. Fears exaggerated, joy personified and confusion amplified. Many times when we wake up with an uncanny feeling that a certain incident is going to occur it is normally a logical conclusion reached by your intellect which knows all aspects of the scenario. Like till you logically realised 2+2 = 4. Something you might have been mulling over your mind resolves for you by looking at different perspective or estimates a different outcome to a familiar event. Which is why many times or most of the times what we dream doesn’t come true, it only creates possible outcomes to a known scenario. It’s like you can or cannot die tomorrow. Choose one, both are true and valid possibilities.
It very important to understand that how one goes to bed or wakes up. It can affect things quite thoroughly. A few suggestions to that are: Don’t take anxiety into bed with you, if you are anxious don’t go straight to bed, especially if you aren’t sleepy. When anxious exhaust yourself, go for a long jog, or hit the gym and then sleep. While waking up it is vital that one doesn’t jump out of bed hastily and bolt to the bathroom. Once you wake up take a moment, sit on the side, breathe, let your body metabolism and your mind come up to normal then start your day. People who follow this have had wonders happen just by going-to and getting-up from sleep properly.
This post is only for my female readers. So my guy friends can have a look at the other posts on the blog. I am talking about women’s lingerie.
There has been a lot of change in the trends of women’s lingerie which I have seen lately. The products have become more bright, colorful and bold. It is no longer seen as a product to be hidden, more and more designers are only lingerie designers. So what are you gals over there waiting for…..it’s time to change the lingerie wardrobe.
So science fiction is now science fact, the ridiculous has become real and Arnold Schwarzenegger in Junior not so preposterous after all! Take a look at Fox news reporting on the pregnant man, something that is routinely viewed as a paradox, a contradiction of terms:
Thomas Beatie was born a woman (Tracy), then he Tran-gendered into a man by having reconstructive surgery to remove the breasts and taking testosterone hormone injections to grow facial hair and develop other male characteristics. OK so far, familiar enough story: Tran-gendering from one to another sex is getting less shocking and more common. But Thomas chose to keep the reproductive organs he was born with (I don’t know about the genitalia and was somewhat queasy to find out about that, so I didn’t). So since his wife Nancy (I think she was born a woman) could not bear children Thomas decided to go ahead and get pregnant by artificial insemination and is now expecting to give birth to his daughter soon. Here is a clip of him featured on Oprah:
This is apparently not the only instance of a man being pregnant; Mr. Lee Mingwei is also another famous pregnant man, who has elicited the following extreme reactions: One woman is quoted as having said: “This is against God. Mr. Lee is a sick man. Repent now before it’s too late. You sick, sick people. God will pay you back for this evil you have created. REPENT! REPENT!” another woman, herself pregnant was quoted as having said, “Go, Mr. Lee! All my prayers and best wishes to you. I’m so happy for you and your baby. I am six months pregnant myself, and I completely understand how excited you are to be going through this amazing process. Have a happy and healthy pregnancy.”
Another man is quite envious of the concept of a pregnant man and is quoted as having said, “I’ve dreamed about this my entire life. Sign me up! I think I’d be a fantastic father in every way possible. And now I can participate in literally every step of my child’s life … from the embryo on up!”
As of now though, there does not appear to be anyway that a man, who was born a man, can have children, so it is not as if we can as yet decide which one from among a conventional husband and wife can choose to have a baby.
While this is fairly shocking and somewhat unsettling simply because of the unfamiliarity of the concept for me, what Thomas says in that Oprah video gave me pause for thought: “its not a male or female desire to have a child, it is a human desire”. That it is, and for what it is worth, I wish these men a safe and healthy pregnancy and birthing.
The other day I was told to find some Drug treatment centers by my friend for her son who had been doing drugs since a while and now needs rehabilitation immediately. I was not aware much about these centers till I started my search, while searching I came across a lot of Drug Treatment Centers.
They are simply awesome. These places look no less than a five star hotel. The property is beautiful; it looks so peaceful, and full of life. They are ideal places for a drug addict person to come out of his habit and enjoy the real life and be one with nature. There is so much more to life then to just destroy it with a puff of smoke.
If my post could help even 1 drug addict person to leave drugs and start life all over again, I would feel myself blessed.
Life is beautiful; it shouldn’t be wasted like this……….
This youtube video featuring Angelina Jolie alerted me to the fact that, 20 June was World Refugee day. Listen to that super U2 track in the background, very apt and with beautiful lyrics!
(Just in case you are an Angelina Jolie fan there are lots more videos about World Refugee Day featuring her over here.
World Refugee day started out as Africa Refugee Day. Africa has the highest numbers of refugees in the world perhaps resulting from a higher level or civic unrest, human displacement and tragedy. So what is the relevance of this day today? Well the fact is that there are some 40 million refugees world wide today; people who are forced to flee their homes; uprooted by violence and persecution, they are forced to flee their homelands.
Imagine for a minute if you will, if in your neighborhood or community or city, circumstances became so inhospitable, life became so imperiled that you had to pack only those few valuables that you could carry on your person (leaving behind all that is not considered imperative) and simply leave! Then imagine that you are given ‘sanctuary’ in some place where you are given permission to stay temporarily, where you are merely tolerated and not welcomed. Imagine further if you will, makeshift, temporary perhaps unsanitary and crowded accommodation, food and clothes being doled out like so much largesse.
Now you have an idea of what it is to be a refugee. When I try to picture myself or my loved ones in such circumstances, I am no less than appalled! So if I sound a little impassioned here, bear with me please.
The UN Refugee Agency makes use of this day to focus attention on its efforts to address the distress of refugees worldwide. Firstly they try to provide safety, shelter and basic health care to the displaced people with the focus on the most helpless among them. Next the agencies try to provide means for self reliance. Lastly they try to draw attention to the plight of refugees thru awareness programs and/or fund raisers. Thru this they try to make people like you and me aware that the refugee problem is something that affects all of us and that all of us should act in a responsible manner so as to make a difference. So if the opportunity presents itself to you, to make a difference, take it, and make a difference!
It’s Saturday morning and on Saturdays I have joined horse riding classes. I have to be at my classes at 7 am, so you can imagine after partying on Friday night till early morning I was fully dressed and ready to go for my classes at 6.30a.m. Well I don’t mind it as I always loved horse riding and use to look at veteran horse riders with a hope that one day even I shall ride like them. So finally the day came when first time I sat on a horse to ride it rather than just for pleasure.
I was given various kinds of information about horse riding, but one thing that I was not aware of is the apparel for horse riding. I never thought that horse riders have a proper dress code and there are proper apparels for the women riders, the male riders and even of the horse. Such kind of clothing is called equestrian clothing. These attire’s for riders as well as the horse are coupled with proper shoes and accessories too.
I had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed my first class. It’s a great feeling to pursue your hobby. Well, I’ll keep you guys posted on how far have I and the horses managed to gel with each other.
